What isDesign Thinking?

 

It is a methodology that focuses onunderstanding and providing solutions to the real needs of users, which is whyit is also known as human-centered design. It seeks to address challenges, orcomplex problems to define and solve, while facilitating their solution and thedesign and development of products and services of all kinds. For this reason,it utilizes innovation, creativity, and motivation of the team as a basefoundation.

 

It is a non-linear process, in which you cantake steps backwards or forward at any time if you have the adequate tools andtechniques necessary to guide you. It can help you enhance creativity andanalysis, and discover the insights that will make your project successful.

 

EMPATHYPHASE:

It seeks to reach a deep understanding of theneeds and environment of the users involved. We must be able to put ourselvesin their shoes to be able to generate solutions consistent with theirrealities.

 

To reach an understanding of potentialclients/users, the use of some techniques is suggested, such as: Interviews;5w's; Ethnography; Observation; Moodboard; Focus Group; Etc.

 

DEFINITIONPHASE:

We filter the information collected to keepthe valuable findings that lead us to see interesting new perspectives based onthe demands and needs of the user.

After identifying the problem or challenge, weproceed to define and validate it with the target; remember that it is based onthis that we will seek key and innovative solutions.

 

IDEATIONPHASE:

 

Its objective is the generation of endlessoptions. We shouldn’t stay with the first idea that comes to mind. In thisphase, methods that favor expansive thinking and the elimination of valuejudgments are used. Sometimes the most outlandish ideas are the ones thatgenerate visionary solutions.

 

It is a stage of creativity, innovation andpure and hard realism. The challenge is creative, to put the minds of the teamto work. Space, ideas, tools, materials and all kinds of utensils are required.

 

PROTOTYPINGPHASE:

In this stage we turn ideas into reality.Building prototypes makes ideas tangible and helps us visualize possiblesolutions. In addition, it reveals elements that we must improve, refine, orchange before reaching the final result. The goal is to achieve a mockup orprototype as close to the reality of the desired solution. This way we canlater validate it, and perhaps more importantly, that it meets the initialneeds of your target audience.

 

TESTINGPHASE:

During the Testing phase, we will test ourprototypes with the users involved in the solution we are developing. Thisphase is crucial, and it will help us identify significant improvements, bugsto resolve, possible shortcomings, and more. During this phase we will evolveour idea until it becomes the solution we are looking for.

Es unametodología que se centra en entender y dar solución a las necesidades realesde los usuarios, por ello también es conocida como human-centered design.  Busca abordar retos o problemas complejos dedefinir y resolver, facilitando su solución y el diseño y desarrollo deproductos y servicios de todo tipo. Para ello utiliza como base la innovación,creatividad y motivación del equipo.

 

Es unproceso no lineal, en el que podrás dar pasos hacia atrás o hacia delante encualquier momento si lo ves oportuno, apoyado en herramientas y técnicas paraguiarte, potenciar la creatividad y el análisis y descubrir los insights que ledarán éxito a tu proyecto.

 

FASE DE EMPATÍA:

Buscallegar a una profunda comprensión de las necesidades y entorno de losusuarios  implicados. Debemos ser capacesde ponernos en sus zapatos para ser capaces de generar soluciones consecuentescon sus realidades.

 

Para llegara la comprensión de los clientes/usuarios potenciales se sugiere el uso dealgunas técnicas como: Entrevistas; 5w’s; Etnografía; Observación; Moodboard;Focus Group; Etc.

 

FASE DE DEFINICIÓN:

Filtramosla información recopilada para quedarnos con los hallazgos valiosos que nosllevan a ver nuevas perspectivas interesantes basadas en los deseos ynecesidades del usuario.

Luego deidentificar el problema o reto, pasamos a definirlo y validarlo con el target;recuerda que es en base a este que buscaremos soluciones clave e innovadoras.

 

FASE DE IDEACIÓN:

 

Tiene comoobjetivo la generación de un sinfín de opciones. No debemos quedarnos con laprimera idea que se nos ocurra. En esta fase, se utilizan métodos que favorecenel pensamiento expansivo y la eliminación de los juicios de valor. A veces, lasideas más estrambóticas son las que generan soluciones visionarias.

 

Es unaetapa de creatividad, innovación y realismo puro y duro. El reto es creativo,para poner las mentes del equipo a funcionar se requiere de espacio, ideas,herramientas, materiales y todo tipo de utensilios.

 

FASE DE PROTOTIPADO:

En estaetapa volvemos las ideas realidad. Construir prototipos hace las ideaspalpables y nos ayuda a visualizar las posibles soluciones. Además, pone demanifiesto elementos que debemos mejorar, refinar o cambiar antes de llegar alresultado final. El objetivo es lograr una maqueta o prototipo lo más cercano ala realidad de la solución deseada. De tal manera que podamos validarposteriormente, y quizás lo más importante, que resuelva las necesidadesiniciales de tu público objetivo.

 

FASE DE TESTEO:

Durante lafase de Testeo, probaremos nuestros prototipos con los usuarios implicados enla solución que estemos desarrollando. Esta fase es crucial, y nos ayudará aidentificar mejoras significativas, fallos a resolver, posibles carencias...Durante esta fase evolucionaremos nuestra idea hasta convertirla en la soluciónque estábamos buscando.
